Today has been a quiet day. Lita has been eating well - two full meals and some cherrie along with her Ensure. We have received lots of emails, and I have read them all to her. I think we have responded to all, but if we missed you, I apologize. She loves hearing from people on the blog as well.
This afternoon we sat at the table for a bit and played a new card game my daughter got for Christmas - SWAP. It was nice to do that too. She had a nice rest this afternoon as well. Our brother will be here to see her tomorrow, and Lita and I are both looking forward to that.
Last night Lita said she felt like a fraud because she has been feeling so well these past few days. We told her that it would certainly be OK with us if it turned out to be a farce. From her lips to Gods ears.
My cousin Cathie had a great quote with commentary on her facebook after her visit with us on Sunday that I thought I would share with everyone.
"The human spirit is stronger than anything that can happen to it." (C.C. Scott). I have witnessed this in action yet again today."
Words to live by, Cathie. Words to live by.

Lita honey, your pictures are most sweet and I am glad you are comfortable at your sister's house. :) Everyone at the clinic misses you and asks about you daily. I am so glad your sister has set this up so Michelle and I can continue to update everyone here on your well being. :)

Lita, Clydene and family...You are all in my thoughts around the clock. You even have me praying and that is something I haven't done in a long time. Keep your spirits high, your hearts warm with love and peace. I love you.

Lita, ever since we were little girls, I've always admired your strength and tenacity to live life in spite of your health issues. Nothing ever seemed to stop you. You've always been a fiesty little thing, but with big impact on people's lives. Your strength through your heart issues and then with your battle with cancer has been and will always be such an inspiration. Last night, when Cathie called to update me on your condition, I found myself wishing we had spent more time with each other. I've always enjoyed our times together and I will always remember those times with a smile. Your capacity to really live...and with such a sense of humor...is something I will never forget. My thoughts and prayers are with you always. Love ya ~ Cathy Fichtner
ReplyDeleteJust writing to say Hi and that I am thinking about you. My family is praying for you as am I. I am so glad you are with Clydene and her family. I know she is a strong person to see you through this. What strength and courage you also have had all of your life. I am constantly in awe of it.
ReplyDeleteI will never forget that ride home you gave me from Cathie's and the conversation we had. I definitely felt a deeper kinship with you after that.
I hope that you are comfortable and I Love You very much.....cousin Eileen
LITA,
ReplyDeleteJust wanted to let you know that not a day goes by that I don't think about you, I also think about the Morse Shoe days when you and I together battled breast cancer. We were there for each other. Swapping our personal stories. I know that because of your positive attitude and strong will it helped me get through it. You really made a difference in my life and for that I will always be grateful. You are a real fighter, a great role model and friend. Last but not least I just want to say how much I love you. Talk to you soon.
